Business Card Review - MOO.com
Before I went ahead with actually making my business cards and printing them off I first had to decide which website I would make my cards with to get them printed off. The first option that came to mind was VistaPrint as they are most commonly advertised on TV so it was my automatic go to for business cards. However after a bit of looking around I discovered MOO.
The reason why I chose MOO over VistaPrint was because when I was weighing the two websites up MOO appeared to have a wider range of customisable options for my business card and this was something that really wanted to experiment with in the future.
The designs were simple enough, there were hundreds of pre made designs to choose from and in the 100% customisable card maker it gave plenty of different options to make your card truly personal and unique to you. This included various glosses, paper shapes and layouts. I eventually decided that the first designs I would make would be matte paper with rounded smooth edges.
The entire design process was extremely simple but the the experience on the whole wasn't without its flaws. First off the price for just 50 cards is quite expensive for the amount you get, and give that some people give out a lot of business cards at any given time in a networking event this means spending a hell of a lot of money for the business cards you want.
Another downside was that when my cards actually arrived they were in extremely poor quality with strange dark borders around the edges, however, MOO sent with the cards a letter explaining that they knew that the cards weren't up to scratch so said they would send over another 50 cards completely free of charge which arrived a few days later, the new cards were absolutely fine and had no printing flaws so I really can't fault them for their honesty as they could have very easily left me hanging so the fact that they sent an apology with the cards made me feel like they actually cared about the customers.
On the whole I would rate MOO as the following:
Premade Card Designs: 8/10
Card Customiser Program: 9/10
Price: 4/10
Delivery Time: 5/10
Customer Service: 10/10
Next time I need business cards I might try VistaPrint just so that I know how both websites weigh up with one another. Then at least I know who to use permanently in the future.
