Character Development: Sanza Fernandez

Sanza is the first female character that I've been developing as part of the surviving group. Normally I don't enjoy drawing females but I've quite enjoyed drawing this design.

Sanza is a 29 year old Brazilian woman from the heart of Rio itself and a professional dancer. Every year Sanza has lead the Carnivals "Nature" section of the parade, dressed in a variety of greens and golds, she represents everything full of life in Brazil. When the Rio outbreak occurred Sanza was in the middle of her biggest performance of that carnival season, she and her friends were swarmed by infected on the roads. The dancer ran as fast as her legs could carry her, all the while listening to the dying screams of her friends and fellow dancers all around her.

Sanza survived how most of the others before her had, she spent her time looting the local stores for anything she considered to be of value in her survival, primarily food and medicinal supplies.
A few days later she ran into an injured man who introduced himself as Murrey Fischer that Sanza helped take care of overnight before parting ways. Over the course of the coming months Sanza grouped with another woman and two men named Serah, Nick and Coby. It came as a welcome surprise to her when the previously injured man, Murrey joined the group too.

Sanza is a kind and compassionate young lady who has shown deep concern for her group, she gets on well with Murrey the most and considers him to be somewhat of a father figure as her own left the family when she was a child. Sanzas her medicinal knowledge to help aid her team members when they are in need of it.

Sanza is delicate and as such does not go hand in hand with fighting but instead looks for things to aid her team members throughout fights and heals them after. That said she has been taught to use a pistol to reasonable effect.
