My final mood board and this time its all related to "The Walking Dead" TV series.
The Walking Dead has to be one of my favourite ongoing tv series currently as it has everything a good zombie horror should have, amazing character development, awesome story telling and plot devices and truly horrific zombies.
The reason why I like these zombies so much is that they are the more modern version of the stereotypical zombie, rotting flesh, bloodied bodies and clouded eyes. All things that make up truly scary creature.
I think the thing I like most about these zombies is their ability to function with excessive loss of body parts. One Zombie in the first series is seen with only a head and arms but is still able to crawl across the floor to try and feed. I also love the colour scheme that these guys have as they are extremely similar to that of a real decomposing human (see bottom right picture) of mood board.
Its this combination of the realistic colours and textures coupled with the typical zombie behaviour and bodily extremes that make the zombies of the Walking Dead a primary hit for artistic research and referencing.
