Infected Development: Infected Animals

Its been quite hard to design the infected animals so far in the game world as i've had to really think about the appearance of the creatures and how they would still be able to cope and hunt their prey.

With the infected birds I made sure to strip them of all feathers that weren't required for flight. this included the head and body feathers. However the wing and tail feathers remained intact to be used in flight and not rendering them completely useless. The beaks of the birds are also rotting when infected and any feathers left on the body have no plumes but are instead just Blood feathers.

The mammals I've not done as much on but it will be roughly the same. I'm doing some research into diseases that animals get such as mange and rabies and I will use these as references when designing my own creatures. Not every creature in Rio will be infected though the ones that are will look a lot different to the healthy creatures that the characters come into contact with.
