Recently a friend of mine linked me to this video concerning good character development within the video games industry. DAY9 (the youtube video's owner) can be seen speaking to a professional character development writer for the games industry.
The video makes some interesting points regarding the whole subject of developing a character effectively which I will be taking on board when designing my own characters.
However that said I will be using my own initiative to create characters personal and relatable to the audience that the game is meant for whilst trying to include a bit of my own personality into each character regardless of how little those qualities may show so that the designs are more personal to me.
For the time being I think I'll try to start on some initial sketches and keep this video in mind, things like this can be useful for years to come and not just for a once off project.
