Without a doubt, The Last of Us has to be the best game I have ever played in my life. Everything about it is beyond astonishing and the story and character development was amazing.
I chose to do a mood board of this game for two reasons, one was the non infected characters, Joel and Ellie. Both have conflicting personalities but fight to survive along side one another. The concept art for them is beautiful and I will most certainly be using it for further reference in my own character art.
The second reason I made a mood board of this game is the infected. The take on the infected that The Last of Us uses is amazing and rather than being portrayed as rotting corpses the infected are infact taken over by a fungus that grows throughout the body and protrudes through the skin, much like some of our own Earthly funguses that cause hosts to become zombie-like.
The design for the infected is beautiful and its definitely something to consider when making my own zombies.
